Subject: Comment to Mr Terry Smith letter

  Dear Mr Terry Smith,

I am writing to you in regard with you electronical letter we have got some days ago concerning the matter of Turkish boxing team boxers passports. You also mentioned  Estonia in your letter. Let me say that Estonian Federation never had problems with boxers books/passports.

Regretfully the incident with Turkish team is not the first during 4 last years. Let me just provide some examples:

1. Kaunas, 01.-10.08.2003, European Cadets Championship: Turkish team members did not have Boxer's Books with them but were allowed to the tournament.

2. Donetsk, 17-21.03.2004, International EABA Youth Tournament. Turkish team members did not have Boxer's Books with them, but allowed to tournament.

3. Saratov, 11-20.09.2004, European Boxing Cadet Championships.  Turkish team members did not have Boxer's Books with them and buy Boxers Books printed by local Boxing Federation with the official stamps of this particular federation.

So as we can see it did not happend once, but it more like a rule for Turkish Team. Let me agree with you that really boxers are not guilty. But we need to admit, that the Federation of Turky and boxing team management do nothing for changing the situation. I would like to ask - WHY?

Let me also to add. That on the European Juniors Championships held in Tallinn 29.07.-07.08.2005 Turkish boxer Cetin Ozdemir has acted contrary to the sportsman discipline and had vandalized the medical equipment located near Jury. The witnesses of the incident were President of EABA Acad. Emil Jetchev, EABA Administrative Secretary Vessilin Bardarov, EABA Vice-President Eduard Hussainov, member of EABA R/J Commission Boris Hristov, technical delegate Dr Sandor Scötönyi.

So let me end by saying that the number of incidents with the participation of the Turkish boxers increase. Why and who must deal with the discipline of the boxers? It is logical to suppose that it is not problem only in the coaches theyselfs, but also in their believing that rules are only for others. If something happening with Turkish team it is always the same answer - "that is ok, we are all people, .... I just wanted to help young boxers who prepared for tournamnet, .... it is fault of the coach".

Today the members of the Turkish boxing team allowed to tournamnets without Boxer Books and vandalize medical equipment - what will bring tommorow?
